Showcase Carver

Carvers are invited to showcase their carvings at Treeline in the club display cases.  Each display lasts for a few weeks.  The current carver who's on display is Terry Schoryder.

Terry is a snowbird from Northern California via Arizona.  Terry retired from the Postal Service almost 20 years ago and moved to Arizona from California.  While in Apache Junction, Arizona she met master carver Sheila Hunter from Kansas City.  It took a couple years for the carving bug to bite but she has been carving now for 10+ years now.  In 2002 she hooked up with her friend Bonnie from Spanish Fork.  So now she summers in Utah and carves with our club and returns to Arizona when the snow begins to fly.  Among her other interests are metal detecting, hiking, and golf.  She also enjoys wood burning and she even has a scroll saw in her motor home with which she has done intarsia.  Terry says there are lots of carving instructors in Arizona that have taught her learn many things that have helped her improve her carving.  To see her carvings in person, stop be Treeline and give them a peak.

If you are interested in displaying your carvings, contact Susan Hendrix to be scheduled.

Utah Valley Woodcarvers Club

Welcome to the Utah Valley Woodcarvers Club home.  Our club is based in Utah county Utah but our members come from many surrounding counties.

Our members interests cover the gambit from chip carving to caricature carving and everything in between.  While some members specialize in one style of carving, many members enjoy carving in several different styles.

The club meets on the second Thursday on the month.  We have refreshments served at 5:30 pm and the meeting starts at 6:00 pm. and we often go until around 8:30 pm.  We also hold an open carve on Thursday afternoons from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. (except for those days a class is scheduled).  All club events are held at Treeline USA, 1221 E 1120 S, Provo, Utah unless otherwise noted.

What better way to improve you skills than by taking a class.  We sponsor classes from some of the most talented carving instructors in the country.  The classes are held at Treeline USA in the class room.  Check out our classes page and see what is scheduled.
